Aftercare

Aftercare 〰️

  • Avoid scratching or picking at the tattoo. Gently patting the area can help soothe itching.

If the tattoo is in an area that’s typically covered, avoid wearing tight clothing whenever possible.

Avoid bathtubs, hot tubs, pools, and other scenarios where your tattoo may be immersed in water. While sunblock is an essential part of your tattoo’s overall aftercare, it’s best to avoid this until after the tattoo has fully healed.

Avoid direct sun exposure to your new tattoo for at least 30 days.

  • For the first 24 hours, there will be some fluid and ink built up under the bandage, and your skin will be red and warm. These are normal reactions.

Leave the bandage on for 4 days. If you notice any fluid leaking out of the bandage before this point, or the bandage started peeling and exposes part of the tattoo, remove the bandage using the following steps.

Twice a day for one week:

Wash your hands thoroughly with antibacterial liquid soap, then remove the bandage by stretching the corner in the direction that’s parallel to the bandage. You can help release the bandage from the skin with some warm water. Gently wash the area with antibacterial liquid soap. After cleaning the tattoo, pat the skin dry with paper towel and let air dry for a few minutes.

After cleaning the tattoo, apply a thin layer of unscented water-based lotion, like Lubriderm. Apply the lotion a few more times throughout the day if the skin becomes dry.

After a week, you can stop washing the tattoo and continue moisturizing twice a day for the next 30 days.

  • Leave the bandage on for at least 3 hours, then wash the tattoo with antibacterial liquid soap and let it dry without moisturizing.

After 24 hours, you can wash the tattoo and then moisturize with a thin layer of unscented water-based lotion TWICE a day; apply a few more times throughout the day if the skin becomes dry. Follow this step for a week.

After the first week, you can stop washing the tattoo and continue moisturizing twice a day for the next 30 days.

  • If you need some touch up done on your tattoo, the first one is free and can be booked through email
